Devcon® 10110 Plastic Steel® Putty (A) is a steel-filled epoxy compound designed for repairing, rebuilding, and bonding metal surfaces. It cures at room temperature to form a durable, machinable metal-like finish, making it ideal for industrial maintenance and repair tasks.

Key Features

Steel-filled epoxy : Provides high strength and durability.

Room temperature curing : Cures without the need for heat.

Machinable finish : Once cured, it can be drilled, tapped, machined, or painted.

Excellent adhesion : Bonds to most metals, concrete, and some plastics.

Chemical resistance : Resistant to oil, gasoline, water, and many chemicals.

Non-rusting repairs : Ideal for applications where corrosion resistance is important.

Typical Technical Properties

 Color : Gray

Mix Ratio (by volume) : 2.5:1

 Working Time : 45 minutes

 Functional Cure Time : 16 hours at 21°C (70°F)

 Hardness : 85 Shore D

 Tensile Strength : 19 MPa (2,750 psi)

 Compressive Strength : 57 MPa (8,300 psi)

 Temperature Resistance : Up to 121°C (250°F)

Applications

Repairing worn or fatigued metals : Ideal for restoring parts where welding or brazing is impractical.

Patching castings : Fills voids and defects in metal castings.

Rebuilding pump and valve bodies : Restores dimensions and functionality.

Restoring bearing journals and races : Provides a durable surface for bearing applications.

General metal repair : Suitable for a wide range of industrial maintenance tasks.

Handling & Safety

Surface Preparation : Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from oil or grease. Roughening the surface can improve adhesion.

Mixing : Combine resin and hardener thoroughly according to the specified mix ratio.

Application : Apply the mixed putty to the prepared surface using a suitable tool.

Curing : Allow to cure at room temperature. Full cure is typically achieved in 16 hours.

Storage : Store in a cool, dry place. Shelf life is approximately 3 years from the date of manufacture.
