DOWSIL™ 1-2577 Low VOC Conformal Coating

Brand: VENOM

  • Share

DOWSIL™ 1-2577 Low VOC Conformal Coating is a one-part, solvent-based, RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone coating designed to protect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other electronic components. It is engineered to offer low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, making it suitable for use in regulated or environmentally sensitive manufacturing environments.

The coating cures with atmospheric moisture to form a clear, elastoplastic, abrasion-resistant film that is durable under harsh operating conditions. It contains a UV-traceable dye to facilitate inspection.

Product Overview

Type: Silicone-based conformal coating

Cure System: Moisture cure (RTV)

Appearance: Clear coating with UV indicator

Form: Flowable liquid

Solvent-based: Yes, with low VOCs

Flammability: Flammable (due to solvent content)

Handling & Safety

Safe Use Guidelines

Apply in well-ventilated areas; avoid inhaling vapors.

Product is flammable before cure — keep away from heat, sparks, and flames.

Ensure solvent flash-off before heating to avoid bubble formation or fire hazards.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE): gloves, goggles, and appropriate respirators if needed.

Storage

Store in cool, dry conditions (preferably below 25°C)

Keep container tightly closed and avoid moisture exposure before use

Shelf life: up to 36 months from manufacturing date in unopened packaging

Disposal

Follow local environmental regulations for solvent-containing waste

Dispose of containers properly; do not reuse for food or drink storage
