Brand: VENOM

  • Share

DOWSIL™ PR-1200 RTV Prime Coat is a one-part, solvent-based silicone adhesion promoter (primer). It is specifically designed to improve the adhesion of room-temperature vulcanizing (RTV) and heat-cured silicone elastomers to a wide range of substrates such as metals, glass, ceramics, plastics, and composites.

It is available in clear and red versions for visual control during application and comes in small cans or pails depending on usage volume.

Key Features

- Improves Silicone Adhesion: Enhances the bond strength between silicone materials and difficult-to-bond surfaces.

- Versatile: Effective with both RTV and heat-cure silicone rubbers.

- Color Options: Available in clear (for discreet use) and red (for easy visual inspection).

- Multiple Substrate Compatibility: Suitable for use on metal, glass, ceramics, masonry, wood, and some plastics.

- Convenient Application: Can be applied via wiping, spraying, or dipping.

- Fast Drying: Dries at ambient temperature and humidity within 1–2 hours.

Applications

Electronics: Improves adhesion of silicone conformal coatings to circuit boards (e.g., FR-4 substrates).

Aerospace and Automotive: Used as a surface preparation primer before applying silicone sealants to metal and composite structures.

Construction: Prepares substrates for silicone weatherproofing sealants on curtain walls, facades, and glazing joints.

Mold Making and Casting: Enhances silicone rubber bonding to mold surfaces.

OEM Assembly: Used in manufacturing to ensure consistent silicone bonding in devices, appliances, and enclosures.
