DOWSIL™ 1-2620 Dispersion is a one-part, solvent-borne silicone conformal coating designed to protect printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies. It cures at room temperature to form a tough, abrasion-resistant, elastoplastic surface, providing excellent dielectric properties and environmental protection.

Product Overview

Composition : One-part, transparent silicone resin solution.

Cure Mechanism : Moisture-cure at room temperature; optional mild heat acceleration after solvent evaporation.

Appearance : Transparent yellow after curing.

 Viscosity : Approximately 150 mPa=s.

 Tack-Free Time : Approximately 5 minutes at 25°C; 2 minutes at 60°C.

 Hardness : Shore A 80.

 Dielectric Strength : Approximately 22 kV/mm.

 Volume Resistivity : Approximately 4.6 × 10¹³ ohm=cm.

 Operating Temperature Range : -45°C to 200°C.

Key Features

Abrasion Resistance : Cures to a resilient surface that withstands mechanical wear.

Room Temperature Cure : Eliminates the need for ovens; suitable for temperature-sensitive components.

UV Indicator : Facilitates automated inspection under UV light.

 Compliance : Meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating, UL 746E, IPC-CC-830B, and MIL-I-46058C standards.

Application Methods : Versatile application via spray, brush, flow, dip, or automated pattern coating.

Applications

DOWSIL™ 1-2620 Dispersion is ideal for:
Protective Coating : For rigid and flexible circuit boards, offering protection against moisture, dust, and mechanical stress.

Printed Wiring Boards (PWB) : Particularly suitable for applications requiring toughness and abrasion resistance.

High-Performance Electronics : Used in environments where electronic assemblies are exposed to harsh conditions.

Safety and Handling

Handling Precautions:

 * Ensure adequate ventilation during application to minimize inhalation of vapors.

 * Avoid contact with skin and eyes; use appropriate personal protective equipment.

 * In case of skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water.

 * In case of eye contact, flush with water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Storage Recommendations:

 * Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

 * Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

 * Shelf life is up to 36 months when stored at room temperature in unopened containers.

First Aid Measures:

 * Inhalation: Move to fresh air; seek medical attention if symptoms occur.

 * Skin Contact: Wash with soap and water; remove contaminated clothing.

 * Eye Contact: Rinse thoroughly with water; consult a physician if irritation develops.

 * Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting; seek medical attention if necessary.
