Brand: VENOM

  • Share

DOWSIL™ PR‑1204 RTV Prime Coat is a one-component, clear solvent-based primer solution. It contains silane coupling agents and is designed to enhance the adhesion of both RTV (room-temperature vulcanizing) and heat-cured silicone elastomers to substrates like metal, glass, ceramics, masonry, and certain plastics. Available in 309 g cans and 2.9 kg pails.

 Key Features

Colorless/clear formulation for discreet application.

Enhances adhesion of RTV and heat-cure silicones across structurally difficult substrates (metals, masonry, glass, ceramics, FR‑4, etc.).

Flash point ~6 °C (naphtha-based solvent system) with low viscosity (≈1 at 25 °C).

Non-volatile content approximately 3–10 %; peel strength on aluminum ~40 lbs/in (~25 N/cm²).

Shelf life: about 540 days (≈18 months).

Applications

Construction / Glazing: Surface priming before silicone sealants applied to aluminum, glass, masonry, or concrete joints.

Electronics / PCB assembly: Promotes silicone adhesion to circuit boards (e.g. FR‑4 substrates).

Industrial & Aerospace bonding: Prepares structural metals, composites, and ceramics for silicone treatments in aerospace or heavy-duty equipment.

Safety & Handling Overview

Hazard class: UN1993 Flammable Liquid Class 3.
