Sikaflex®-295 UV

Sikaflex®-295 UV is a high-performance, one-component polyurethane adhesive and sealant designed for marine applications, particularly for bonding and sealing acrylic (PMMA) and polycarbonate (PC) windows and hatches.

Key Features

UV & Weather Resistance: Specifically formulated to withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight and harsh marine environments without cracking or chalking.

Excellent Adhesion: Provides strong bonding to various substrates, including aluminum, stainless steel, GRP (glass-reinforced plastic), timber, and 2-component coatings.

Non-Yellowing: Maintains aesthetic appearance over time, especially in white formulations.

Paintable & Sandable: Allows for finishing to match surrounding surfaces.

Fast Tack-Free Time: Achieves initial tack-free state in approximately 60 minutes at 23°C (73°F) and 50% relative humidity.

Good Gap-Filling Properties: Suitable for applications requiring a flexible sealant that can accommodate movement.

Safety & Handling

Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, dust, and contaminants. Refer to Sika® Pre-treatment Chart for specific guidelines.

Application Temperature: Optimal application between 10°C and 35°C (50°F to 95°F).

Curing: Cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture; curing speed may vary with temperature and humidity.

Chemical Resistance: Resistant to fresh water, seawater, diluted acids, and diluted caustic solutions; temporarily resistant to fuels, mineral oils, vegetable and animal fats and oils; not resistant to organic acids, glycolic alcohol, concentrated mineral acids, caustic solutions, or solvents.
