3M™ Impact Resistant Structural Adhesive PNs 07333, 57333

3M Impact Resistant Structural Adhesive 07333/57333 is a two-part impact-resistant structural epoxy adhesive tailored for OEM-specified structural bonding in automotive and industrial applications. It offers extended work time, heat-accelerated cure options, high impact strength and corrosion protection, and visual cure indication via color change. It bonds prepared steel and aluminum and is suitable for weld-bonded or rivet-bonded joints within its work window.

Key Features

Impact-resistant two-part epoxy — engineered to absorb collision energy and resist peel and cleavage stresses better than conventional bonding adhesives.

Extended work time — up to ~60 minutes at room temperature, allowing precise positioning before curing begins.

Color-change indicator — dispenses as a silver paste that turns purple as it cures, helping indicate when the curing process has started.

Heat-accelerated curing — cures rapidly with heat (~30 min at ~80 °C) in many applications.

Corrosion protection — formulated to provide corrosion inhibition and long service life.

OEM-specified performance — recommended by many automotive manufacturers for structural bonding use.

Applications

This adhesive is primarily used for structural bonding in automotive and industrial fabrication:

Automotive structural repairs — frame rails, rocker panels, pillars, strut towers, and unibody members.

Collision repair structural bonding — designed to meet OEM specifications where impact resistance is critical.

Hybrid joining methods — can be weld-bonded or rivet-bonded while uncured within the work window.

Steel and aluminum substrates — adheres well to properly prepared mild steel, high-strength steel, and automotive aluminium alloys.

Application & Processing

Surface Preparation: Clean substrates (remove oil, rust, contaminants) to ensure good adhesion.

Mix/Dispense: Use appropriate static mixing nozzle (e.g., 55847 for 57333) and applicator (e.g., 05846 pneumatic gun) when dispensing two-part adhesive.

Position Components: Within ~60 min work time, align parts before curing sets.

Cure:

Room temperature cure: ~24 h for full strength.

Heat-accelerated cure: ~30 min at ~80 °C (175 °F).

Post-Bond Handling: Can be weld-bonded or rivet bonded while still uncured within the work time.

Safety & Handling
