3M™ HoldFast 70 Adhesive, Clear

3M™ HoldFast 70 Adhesive is an industrial spray adhesive packaged in pre-pressurized cylinders, designed for fast tack, high coverage and long open time bonding on a wide range of substrates — especially useful in construction, insulation attachment, panel bonding and HVAC applications. Its wide-web spray pattern and clear adhesive help deliver strong permanent or temporary bonds with minimal overspray.

Key Features

Industrial-grade spray adhesive: Designed for demanding applications such as construction, HVAC, manufactured housing and adhesive assembly tasks.

Very fast-tacking: Bonds almost immediately with a long open time, allowing positioning/adjustment of parts before final set.

Wide-web spray pattern: Delivers a controlled, heavy body pattern with low soak-in and minimal overspray, ideal for irregular or porous substrates.

Clear adhesive: Bonds without visibly discoloring surfaces, suitable for many visible joints and finishes.

Portable cylinder delivery: Ready-to-use pre-pressurized cylinder simplifies application on job sites.

Applications

3M HoldFast 70 is versatile for bonding and assembly across industrial and construction settings:

Polystyrene foam and insulation attachment – bonds foam and insulation panels without damaging surfaces.

Construction materials bonding – adheres drainboards, FRP panels, geotextiles, house wrap and membranes.

Appliance, manufactured housing & HVAC panels – attachment of ceiling/pipe insulation, duct liners and protective layers.

One- and two-surface bonding (e.g., foam to metal/wood) with quick initial adhesion and permanent bond formation.

Marine, RV and specialty vehicle assembly – interior bonding, insulation, trimming and finishing.

Safety & Handling

Hazards & Precautions

Flammable mixture: Spray cylinders contain flammable propellants and solvent vapors — keep away from open flames or sparks.

Vapor inhalation risk: Use with good ventilation; avoid breathing vapors or mist.

Skin/eye contact: May irritate; wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection during use.

Protective clothing: Prevent prolonged skin contact; solvent adhesive can dry skin.

Storage: Keep cylinders sealed in a cool, dry area — away from direct heat or sunlight.

First Aid (Typical)

Skin contact: Wash with soap and water; do not use solvents on skin.

Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water; seek medical help if irritation persists.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air; get medical attention for respiratory distress.
