3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 2214

The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 2214 is a one-part, heat-curing epoxy adhesive designed for high-strength bonding applications across various industries. Its aluminum-filled formulation provides excellent thermal conductivity and resistance, making it suitable for applications requiring durability under high temperatures.

 Product Overview

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive 2214 is engineered for bonding metals and high-temperature plastics such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic, polyester, and phenolics. Its paste consistency allows for precise application without sagging, ensuring smooth bond lines. The adhesive cures upon the application of heat, offering flexibility in assembly processes.

Key Features

  • High-Temperature Resistance: Maintains bond strength in environments up to 250°F (121°C).
  • One-Part System: Eliminates the need for mixing, simplifying the application process.
  • Aluminum-Filled: Enhances thermal conductivity and provides a strong, durable bond.
  • Fast Heat Cure: Achieves full cure in 40 minutes at 250°F (121°C).
  • Versatile Bonding: Adheres to metals, plastics, glass, and more.
  • UL 94 HB Certified: Meets flammability standards for various applications.

Applications

  • Aerospace and Transportation: Bonding components that require high strength and thermal resistance.
  • Construction: Securing metal structures and panels.
  • Electronics: Attaching heat-sensitive components where thermal conductivity is essential.
  • Specialty Vehicles: Assembling parts exposed to varying temperatures and stresses.

Packaging Options

  • Regular: Aluminum-filled, general-purpose adhesive.
  • Hi-Dense: Deaerated version for void-free bond lines.
  • Hi-Temp: Formulated for higher strength requirements between 180°F to 350°F (82°C to 177°C).
  • Non-Metallic Filled: Suitable for applications where metal content is undesirable.

Handling & Safety

Storage: Store at temperatures below 40°F (4°C) for maximum shelf life.

Application: Ensure surfaces are clean and dry before application. Apply adhesive and cure with heat as specified.
