3M™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 1300L

3M 1300L TF High Performance Neoprene Adhesive 1 Litre is a solvent-based, high-performance neoprene and gasket adhesive ideal for bonding rubber materials (neoprene, SBR, butyl) to metals, wood, and many plastics. It offers strong immediate adhesion, good heat and moisture resistance up to ~300 °F (148 °C), and flexible application options including sprayability for larger jobs.

Key Features

High immediate strength: Bonds quickly to many substrates with strong tack and grip.

Versatile solvent-based adhesive: Designed for rubber and gasket bonding, especially neoprene, SBR, butyl, reclaim and similar elastomers.

Excellent moisture & heat resistance: Performs well up to approximately 300 °F (148 °C).

Contact or wet-bond use: Can be used as a traditional contact adhesive or as a wet bond, allowing flexibility in application methods.

Lower viscosity for ease of application: 1300L is the lower solids, lower viscosity version of the 1300 series, making it easier to brush, spray, or roll.

Compatible with industrial spray equipment for large-area application.

Applications

3M™ Neoprene High Performance Rubber and Gasket Adhesive 1300L is widely used in manufacturing, maintenance, and repair tasks:

Bonding rubber gaskets and seals to metal, wood, and plastics.

Attaching rubber sheeting or bumpers.

General MRO (maintenance, repair, operations) adhesive tasks.

Repairing rubber components or replacing worn gasket materials.

Handling & Application

Surface preparation: Clean surfaces from oil, grease, dirt, and oxidation before application.

Application: Apply adhesive uniformly to both surfaces; allow tack-off (dry-to-touch) before joining for full contact adhesion.

Coverage: For best strength, aim to cover at least ~80 % of each surface with adhesive.

Methods: Suitable for brush, roll, or spray application depending on job scale and equipment.

Safety & Handling

Ventilation: Use in well-ventilated areas to avoid inhalation of vapors.

Personal protective equipment (PPE): Wear chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing.

Fire hazard: Solvent vapors are flammable — keep away from sparks, flames, or hot surfaces.

Avoid skin/eye contact: Solvent-based adhesives can irritate or sensitise skin and eyes.
