3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357

3M™ Neoprene High Performance Contact Adhesive 1357 is a solvent-based, high-performance laminating contact adhesive ideal for industrial use on metals, plastics, laminates, composites, and wood panels. It offers excellent moisture and heat resistance, fast initial bonding strength, and a long bonding range, making it suitable for large surfaces and precision alignment in industrial fabrication workflows.

Key Features

High-performance laminating contact adhesive — ideal for heavy-duty surface laminations and industrial bonding tasks.

Good initial handling strength — fast set for quicker work progress and reduced processing time.

Excellent moisture and heat resistance — performs reliably under humid conditions and up to approximately 300°F (148 °C).

Long bonding range (open time) — provides time to position and adjust bonded parts before contact sets.

Solvent-based — delivers consistent tack and bond strength with typical solvent-contact adhesive behavior.

Multi-substrate adhesion — effective on metals (stainless steel, aluminum, cold-rolled steel), many plastics, wood laminates, foamed glass, paper honeycomb and fabric.

Applications

Lamination of decorative plastic and wood panels

Bonding metal honeycomb and composite panels

Attaching stainless steel or aluminum to wood or other substrates

General industrial assembly and fabrication

Applications requiring high moisture and heat resistance

Bonding rubber, fabric or foam materials to rigid substrates

Safety & Handling

Hazard Summary

Flammable liquid and vapour — vapours can ignite.

May cause skin and eye irritation; may cause allergic skin reactions.

Inhalation risk: Vapours or mist can cause respiratory irritation and central nervous system effects at high exposure.

Environmental hazard: Avoid release to the environment; contains organic solvents (e.g., toluene, hexane) typical in polychloroprene adhesives.

Safe Handling Practices

Use only in well-ventilated areas to prevent solvent vapour accumulation.

Wear PPE: chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection, and appropriate clothing.

Keep away from flame and heat sources — solvent adhesives are flammable.

Store in a cool, dry place with containers tightly closed.
