Permabond 2050 Cyanoacrylate

Brand: Permabond

  • Share

Permabond 2050 is a one-component, flexible cyanoacrylate adhesive renowned for its enhanced peel strength, impact resistance, and ability to bond dissimilar or semi-porous materials—including flexible substrates—especially those encountering thermal shock or cycling.

Key Features

Flexible & Toughened Formula: Superior peel resistance and vibration tolerance.

Medium–High Viscosity: Easy to apply, suitable for slightly porous or uneven surfaces.

Fast Curing: Sets rapidly—10–15 seconds for steel, 5–10 seconds for rubber or PVC—and achieves full strength in approximately 24 hours.

100 % Reactive, Solvent-Free: Contains no solvents for clean, efficient bonding.

Silicone Compatibility: Bonds in conjunction with Permabond Polyolefin Primer (POP).

Applications

Ideal for bonding flexible or semi-porous substrates and dissimilar materials that may experience thermal expansion or mechanical stress:

Flexible substrates such as rubber, leather, and porous plastics

Assemblies exposed to thermal cycling or mechanical vibration

Silicone components, when used with POP primer

Safety & Handling

Hazard Classification:

 * Combustible liquid. Can cause skin and eye irritation, and respiratory irritation.

PPE & Precautions:

 * Use gloves, eye protection, and work in well-ventilated environments.

 * Avoid contact with fabric or paper, which may trigger rapid curing, smoke, and thermal burns.

Storage:

 * Store in a tightly sealed container, in a cool, dry place away from heat and ignition sources.

First Aid:

 * Skin contact: Wash with soap and water—don’t pull bonded skin apart forcefully.

 * Eye contact: Flush with water and seek medical attention if necessary.

 * Inhalation: Move to fresh air and get medical attention if symptoms persist.
