DOWSIL™ SE 9186 Sealant
DOWSIL™ SE 9186 is a one-part, moisture-cure silicone sealant developed by Dow for electronic, automotive, and general industrial sealing applications. It cures at room temperature to form a soft, flexible, and durable silicone rubber, offering excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates. Available in both Clear and White versions, it is ideal for applications requiring flowable, self-leveling material that can conform to intricate shapes and gaps.
Key Features
One-Part, Room-Temperature Cure : Cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture without the need for heat.
Flowable and Self-Leveling : Perfect for filling narrow gaps and coating complex geometries.
Fast Tack-Free Time : Typically becomes tack-free in about 8 minutes at 25°C.
Excellent Dielectric Properties : Suitable for electrical insulation in electronics and automotive applications.
Low Volatility and No Added Solvents : Environmentally friendly and suitable for sensitive applications.
Primerless Adhesion : Bonds well to many substrates like metals, plastics, and glass without a primer.

Instructions for Use
Surface Preparation
* Clean all surfaces to remove dirt, oil, and moisture before application.
Application
* Apply directly from the container using a manual or pneumatic dispenser.
Curing
* Allow curing at ambient conditions; full cure typically occurs within 24–72 hours depending on thickness and environmental humidity.
Safety and Handling
* Use in a well-ventilated area.
* Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin; wear gloves and eye protection.
* During curing, oxime byproducts are released; ensure good ventilation.
* Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and open flames.
* Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed handling and first aid measures.
